Ditch the bottled barbecue sauce which is loaded with sugar and sodium and throw together your own homemade barbecue sauce! The taste is so much better than a bottle and it can be ready in just 20 minutes! Make a big batch and store it in your freezer to have sauce ready all summer long. Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil or ghee
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup red onion, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups organic tomato sauce
- 1/4 cup blackstrap molasses
- 1/4 cup sucanat
- 4 tbsp minced chipotle peppers in adobo sauce
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1 tbsp Braggs liquid aminos
- 1/4 tsp sea salt
- dash ground cloves

Instructions
- Heat oil or ghee in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Saute garlic and onions for 5 minutes. Reduce heat to low add remaining ingredients. Simmer for 20 minutes. Puree in a food processor or blender, if desired.
